Camp Spirit To Offer a Free 5-Week Camp for the City Schools in 2010
Camp Spirit will partner with the Pittsburgh Public Schools to provide a FREE 5-week summer camp for kids enrolled in the City Schools. This "Summer Dreamers Academy" (or SDA) Ultimate Camp is separate from the original Camp Spirit, and will differ from it in several ways:
- SDA Ultimate Camp will be FREE to participating families
- Only middle school students enrolled in the Pittsburgh Public Schools are eligible
- Campers will do fun, literacy-related activities in the mornings, Ultimate and games in the afternoons
- SDA Ultimate Camp will run from July 12th - August 13th
- SDA Ultimate Camp will occur at Reizenstein rather than CMU
- To sign up, look for a PPS-issued registration packet, and select the "Ultimate Frisbee" option.
So the camp experiences will differ, but we expect both to be great fun! The SDA camp will not interfere with the usual Camp Spirit, which takes place June 28- July 2, and July 5-9 at CMU. If you like, sign your children up for both!
